The tipi adventure begins!

Please check out my current project at lanceporterfitness.blogspot.com

This fall's adventure is a camping trip to the southwest in a Lakota Sioux tipi. I'll be out for seven or eight weeks. My girlfriend Lea is along for the first week. We just set up the tipi yesterday at my favorite camping site on the banks of the Colorado River. It is high season in Moab, so we were very lucky to get it!

Isla Mujeres

Please check out my current project at lanceporterfitness.blogspot.com

I started this blog to chronicle my trip last year to a fantastic rock formation on the Utah/Arizona border called The Wave. If that's what you're here for, please scroll down to older posts, that chronicle is still here.

In the meantime, my girlfriend and I and our friends Jimmy and Lucinda Sanders, are vacationing on Isla Mujeres. Since I'm too lazy to start a new blog, I'm posting my pictures here. We're on the beach, so it's just a journey to a different kind of wave.

If you ever get down here, seek out the place above, called Loncharia Alexia y Geovanny. Cheap and delicious. The peacock below is painted on the hotel across the street.

My friend Randy Rush is the one who told me about the loncharia. So, Randy, let me return the favor.  We found a little hole in the wall restaurant and bar a stone's toss across the street and down a couple doors from the loncharia. Noticed it was always busy, and gave it a try. Really great, and cheap. It's called Ruben's.

Isla Mujeres - Hotel Las Palmas

My old friend Randy Rush asked me to check out a hotel here in Isla Mujeres called Las Palmas. So, Randy, here you go! I didn't check out the rooms, but it looks very bright and well-maintained. The location couldn't be more perfect. Very short walk to Playa Norte, Hidalgo Street, and the Super Xpress. Best of all, it is right across the street from Alexia and Geovanny, the most popular loncharia on the island.
